Robert Tyler received a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State College in 1959. He attended law school at Stanford University and graduated in 1962. Mr. Tyler was admitted to the California State Bar in 1963. After graduation from law school, he served as a law clerk to Hon. B. Rey Schauer of the California Supreme Court. Mr. Tyler joined the firm in 1964. He became a partner of the firm in 1969.
Mr. Tyler is a business and transactional lawyer, devoting most of his time to real estate, estate planning, probate and taxation projects. His tax practice includes representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and in litigation in both the Tax Court and the U.S. District Court.
Mr. Tyler's real estate practice includes representing clients in complex, multi-party transactions, including reverse exchanges and deferred exchanges.
Mr. Tyler also represents clients in dealing with the Bureau of Reclamation on issues pertaining to the qualification for, and entitlement to, irrigation water and the structuring of transactions to maximize such entitlements.
